First Annual AITP Johnstown Chapter Student Scholarship Golf Outing
Submitted by mshanafelt on Sat, 2008-04-12 13:14.We are proud to announce that the AITP Johnstown Chapter's first annual student scholarship golf outing will take place on Saturday, August 30th, 2008 at Indian Lake Golf Club. Registration begins at 12:30, with the shotgun start taking place at 1:30.
This outing will raise money to offer scholarships to local students who are majoring in the information technology field.
We are asking businesses to consider a contribution to help support these efforts. Sponsorship levels range from $200 to $1000. We are grateful to any donors who believe in our mission and are willing to help support our program at any level.

April 2008 Meeting

February 2008 Meeting
Submitted by mshanafelt on Thu, 2008-01-31 10:08.The Next AITP Johnstown meeting features a presentation from Kent Tonkin and Dave Wolfe from the Center of Excellence for Remote and Medically Under-Served Areas (CERMUSA) at Saint Francis University.
This meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 20th.
Kent and Dave will be presenting a voice radio to IP bridging solution developed at CERMUSA. The devices provide a simple method to extend licensed radio frequency voice communications into areas unreachable by radio repeaters. The bridging boxes form a self-healing mesh wireless network and run on battery power so that they can quickly create a wireless network in almost any location. January 2008 Meeting
Submitted by mshanafelt on Thu, 2007-12-13 10:17.Due to a speaker cancellation this month, we will not have a presentation for the January 17th at the BLVD Grille. We will still meet to discuss some new ideas to help market the group in the area. The AITP Johnstown chapter recently won a $250 incentive to help in this area. We are planning on putting banner ad's on various popular local websites to see if that will help drive new members to the group. We want to do more to help the group move forward and would like more ideas from you. We will raffle off a copy of Microsoft Vista Business Edition at the meeting this month.

November 2007 Meeting

Notice: This meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 13th.
Brian Conboy the President of Advanticom is going to be giving a speech on Network Security. In the discussion he will talk about why integrating your security systems with the entire organization can best protect you from threats and mitigate risk. He will cover whats new, what others are doing, and what your organization can do to identify, prevent and adapt to these ever-evolving threats. He will talk about how to reduce network infections and how to protect businesses from worms, viruses, and take-over attempts.
