Brian Conboy the President of
Advanticom is going to be giving a speech on Network Security. In the discussion he will talk about why integrating your security systems with the entire organization can best protect you from threats and mitigate risk. He will cover whats new, what others are doing, and what your organization can do to identify, prevent and adapt to these ever-evolving threats. He will talk about how to reduce network infections and how to protect businesses from worms, viruses, and take-over attempts.

Pittsburgh AITP chapter has invited us to their annual golf outing on August 11 at
Butlers Golf Course in Elizabeth, PA. The proceeds from this outing benefit scholarships for deserving students. The contribution for the event is $79 which includes cart, buffet, refreshments, and prizes. Businesses may also want to consider sponsoring a hole. The Next AITP Meeting on June 21st, 2007 will present Bart Ratliff - Identity Theft: A New Challenge for Companies and their Employees

Bart Ratliff is a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist and the President of CYA Compliance, LLC, located in Pittsburgh, PA.. For over two years Mr. Ratliff has worked in the Identity Theft arena where he educates and counsels employers, Chambers and Associations, providing them with an Affirmative Defense Plan that helps mitigate their liability should a data breach or a loss of employee, client or vendor information occurs. After spending the first 16 years of his professional career in the insurance and mortgage industries, and upon realization of the devastating effect identity theft can have on individuals and business owners, Mr. Ratliff has focused his attention on educating others concerning identity theft and ways to mitigate individual and corporate liability. Mr. Ratliff is a member of InfraGuard, the Information System Security Association and the Pittsburgh Technology Council, and also serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Information Technology Professionals and the Extreme Strings Orchestra, all located in Pittsburgh.

The Next AITP Meeting features a Presentation from James Gerraughty Electronic Classroom / Video Production Manager - CERMUSA
Presentation Details:
James F. Gerraughty is CERMUSA's Electronic Classrooms & Video Production Manager. Currently, James is researching media production and deployment for high-bandwidth applications over Internet2, and low-bandwidth continuing medical education onto handheld media devices for just-in-time training for medical professionals. Previous employers he has worked for were WPSX-TV (now WPSU-TV) and AccuWeather, both in State College, PA. He received a B.A. in Telecommunications from Penn State in 1998 and a Masters in Business Administration from Saint Francis University in 2006.
Presentation:
James will give a presentation on video production. Video production is a useful tool for corporate communications and education. With the cost of both equipment and software coming down, this field is exploding, both in terms of corporate usage and public websites like YouTube. James will showcase the equipment and software used in video production.
